Daycare Supplies
Keeping your daycare in business requires a lot of equipment. Besides the basic infrastructure of your building, maybe a playground, and tables and chairs designed for both kids and adults, you’ll need a lot of daily daycare supplies.
First you’ll need all the supplies for your daily activities for the children: pens, paper, paints, scissors, glue, and whatever you have planned. All of these items should be child safe and non-toxic. You’ll go through a lot of these so stock up.
Next, on your daycare supplies list, you’ll need a few health related items. Stock up your daycare with lots of hand sanitizer. Kids spread germs easily and tend to disregard a lot of healthy habits, like touching their eyes or sticking their fingers in their mouths, so clean hands are important in a daycare. Make sure you also have a first aid kit that is specifically designed with children in mind. This includes small band-aids and non-sting ointments. Also, have latex and non-latex gloves for your and your staff’s safety when helping a child with an injury.
Keep a steady flow of activity supplies – games and books for example – that regularly changes. This will not only keep children at your center entertained, but updating these materials regularly will prevent them from getting bored or tired of doing the same things everyday.
If you plan on servicing very infants or toddlers, make sure you include diapers and a changing station as part of your regular daycare supplies. Bulk purchasing of these items can be found through suppliers at a discounted rate.
